A remote white sandy beach overlooked by rainforest covered hills, waving coconut palms and views out over coral lagoons and the Great Astrolabe barrier reef.

We only cater to small exclusive wedding parties and every wedding is tailored around your wishes. The bride and groom select the beach they wish to use and any other options desired such as traditional Fijian flower garlands or a local church choir.

On the morning of the wedding, the bride arrives early to change into her dress and prepare. Matava Resort staff will have already prepared a changing area and decorated the beach with palms and flower petals. When all is ready, the groom arrives by boat, walks ashore and the ceremony begins. Afterwards, the newleyweds are left alone with a Champagne picnic hamper. Collected at the end of the day, they return to the resort for a small reception in the main bure with all the other guests. Also included is a private dinner served on your own bure front deck.

Traditional Melanesian flower garlands are made for the bride and groom.
Weddings here are not grand affairs but small, exclusive and unique. There are no high heeled shoes, tuxedos nor limousines and definitely no papparazi. Expect to feel the warm sand under your toes and the Pacific breeze in your hair. Should you desire photographs, a member of staff will take pictures with your own camera. Matava Resort is happy to attempt to cater for specific requests or dietary requirements such as your favourite champagne, should it be possible to obtain in Fiji.
